"CHILI CON CARNE"
Ingredients | | 1 | pound | ground beef | | 1 | cup | onion, chopped | | 1 | cup | green pepper, chopped | | 2 | cup | tomatoes, canned | | 1 | each | garlic clove, minced | | 2 | teaspoon | chili powder | | 1 | teaspoon | salt 1 ds cayenne | | 1 | ds | paprika | | 1 | cn | kidney beans (medium can) | | | | | | Directions:
| Pan fry ground beef, onion and green pepper in skillet until meat is brown. Drain fat. Add remaining ingredients except beans and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until thick (about 1 hour). Stir in beans and heat. For dried kidney beans - use 1/2 lb (for standard serving size). Wash, and cover with boiling water. Cook 2 minutes and remove from heat. Soak for 1 hour then bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer till tender.
